A2 Electrochemistry
About Course
Electrochemistry is a branch of chemistry that deals with the relationship between electrical energy and chemical reactions. It examines the behavior of charged particles at electrodes and in solution, and how this behavior can be used to produce and measure electrical current. Topics covered in an electrochemistry course include thermodynamics and kinetics of electrochemical reactions, conductivity and transport of ions in solution, battery technology, corrosion, fuel cells, electroplating, and spectroelectrochemistry. This course provides a foundation in the principles and applications of electrochemistry, and is essential for students interested in pursuing careers in materials science, energy storage and conversion, and environmental science.
